Public Programs and Events



Winneshiek County Conservation hosts numerous public programs and events throughout the year, many of them free. Program locations, dates, and times vary. In case of severe weather, please tune into KDEC 100.5 or KVIK 104.7 for cancellation information. For programs requiring registration and for more information, please call (563) 534-7145. Events and programs are added frequently; check back often.


Trunk or Treat FB Post and Web

A family-friendly evening of trick-or-treating, activities, light snacks, games, and fall fun!

We are now accepting reservations for participants that want to decorate sites and hand out candy. All participants are granted one free night of camping and this is a great opportunity for youth organizations!

2019 Driftless Safari

Join Driftless Safari and enjoy getting to know some of the natural, cultural, and historical treasures of Winneshiek County! This free, long-term scavenger hunt runs from Memorial Day until Halloween and is open to anyone who loves to explore!

To join in, visit any public library in Winneshiek County during their operating hours to pick up a free map and guidebook. Visit to learn more.
