The purpose of the Winneshiek County Conservation Board is to provide the public with wide-ranging opportunities for quality outdoor recreation while wisely managing our natural resources and encouraging land stewardship through natural history and environmental education programming.

 

Flood Announcements (8/25/2016)

The following areas under our management have been affected by the recent heavy rains and extreme flooding.

  • Kendallville Campground: Closed until futher notice.
  • Trout Run Trail: Closed until futher notice.
  • Freeport Trail: Closed until further notice.
  • Lake Meyer: Closed to boat traffice until further notice. Trails around the lake and park may be under water.
  • The Upper Iowa River and Turkey River are at high flood stages. Please stay away for your own safety.

The following areas were unaffected or have been returned to full use:

  • Lake Meyer Campground: Open for camping.
  • Prairie Farmer Recreation Trail: Open for use.
